Someone spent 6 months with Ron Paul enthusiasts, and wasn’t happy with what she learned

The site in the crosshairs is Liberty Forest, which is a set of discussion forums rather than a blog.

It took me, literally, 30 seconds to find this statement: “But Russia is controlled by zionists so what’s the difference?”

Smile. If anyone knows even just a single thing about me, it is that Israel is always right. I am completely blind to any possibility of her being wrong. And I have enough research behind me to see the racist attitudes towards her around the world. Call it a weakness I cherish: Even a whiff of anti-Semite behavior is enough to condemn the actor to a lifelong ban from my life.

So as I spent a little time on this site, whew, does it come out strongly. How sad. I wish Ron Paul would take a public stand on this. It is being done in his name. Unfortunately, I found this article:

“Israel would be better off” and the Israelis “could take care of themselves” if the United States ended its alliance with Israel, he said.

Oh well. Bye, Ron.

Here’s the cross post from Schmoozing:

Those who come to the site with sympathy towards the State of Israel, Jews or Judaism had better walk softly. Any itty bitty sign of rudeness will be noticed and quickly censured by either JoshLowry, Admin or the moderators. Awhile back, I had decided I was going to leave the forum permanently on post number 777. I have better things to do with my time.

My candid views of these people earned me a place in the banned pile. No matter. I have saved every single thread I participated in. My words, and theirs are preserved for my future reference.

  1. MSGT's Daughter

    Fascinating. Great read, thanks.

Real Patriots love America and don’t swear allegiance to some foreign country. If they had a trial of their peers, how many of these Israel firsters would be convicted of treason?

First of all, I love this country with all my heart. I proudly wore the uniform of the USN. My husband proudly served this country wearing the uniform of the USAF. He also had two tours of duty in VIetnam. So I think that you might be able to say that we are patriotic and we love this county.
We are also born-again Christians. And with that comes a deep love for Israel since my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was himself born a Jew. I am not going into theology here. I am simply stating fact. (and before you bring up the idea that it was the Jews that nailed Jesus to the cross…It was ALL of us and our sin that did that….He would not have to had been nailed to the cross if we all were sinless). But it clearly says in the Word of God that those that hate Israel will suffer for their hatred. And those that love Israel will be blessed. Henceforth, every country that has turned against Israel has paid dearly (look at Great Britian). I am afraid it will be our turn with BHO in the WH. But I believe that God is still working among nations, and how we treat Israel is how we will be treated.
So it is a two-fold purpose in my love for Israel. One, my Lord was a Jew. Secondly, loving and protecting Israel protects the US.
I hope that this was not over your head.
    Go for it Clyde

You and me, Lorraine, speak the same language. That’s common for us. I agree with everything you wrote.

    To “Good Riddance”,

This is the typical vitriol to be found at Liberty Forest. It is scattered throughout. My pro-Israel posts concentrated them within my threads, but I did a number of searches, and found horrid comments about Jews, Judaism, Zionist, Israel, whatever label one chooses. They twisted everything. If Jews were trying to fight Jewish Israeli girls marrying Muslim Arabs, that was presented, as a racism. Don’t Catholics prefer their children to marry Catholics. Besides which, when Jewish girls marry Muslim men, they usually find themselves being abused, and if they leave, they lose their children.
