Lafayette Park, directly across from the White House saw a lunch-time crowd of about 200-300 people gather for the Washington D.C. installment of the American Tea Party, taking place all over the country today. Here is our earlier story announcing the event as well as a couple of entries I made this afternoon in a live-blog from the event, which wrapped up a little after 1:00 p.m. due to rain.
The crowd was fired up and a few well-known conservative bloggers and celebrities were in attendance.
Almost right off the bat, I ran into Joe the Plumber (Joe Wurzelbacher) who had just strolled in and was talking to a passerby. When I told him I was a conservative blogger, he told me that he was glad folks other than the MSM were covering the event, as they usually dismiss his presence at these gatherings as a Republican gimmick, forgetting the fact that Joe actually became known because of his political ideas, which he actually believes. He was there to interview folks in his new gig working for PJTV.
Michelle Malkin was in attendance and was live-blogging the event while simultaneously allowing folks to take photos with her while others paraded by showering her with heartfelt atta-girls for all her hard work for the conservative cause. She has a great round-up of all the Tea Parties around the country.

Sorry… That was not my intent for my thoughts to Liz… I have a soft spot in my heart for those who are so corrupted by those who will do this to people’s lives and they don’t care if they ruin people’s lives with their spread of hate and misinformation…
Liz is like so many others who are led astray by the Liberal Machine, their Church, and by those who drill it into their heads starting at a young age that they have no chances without the Government… It saddens me that these people who are in so called Educational positions to do this… They know better, I would hope, and that just adds to my dismay of how deep the Corruption has gone…
We truly need to remove the Federal Government from our lives… Defense should be their main job… Little else… States rights trump the Federal Government… That is the way it needs to be put back to… With the right people in place we can do just that by defunding all the programs that the Feds have decided they are in charge of…

Is every sentence a question? Only if you’re an idiotic conservative? My goodness, I can’t believe how stupid some of you people are? Didn’t you learn in school that not every sentence ends with a question mark? (That’s this symbol: ? — in case some of you are too stupid to know.)
With a black man in the White House now, I hope all you racist haters are feeling really emboldened to show your true colors. When the Secret Service starts coming after your asses and your half-baked revolutionary ideas, we’ll see which colors run.
