Pagans in the WH: Obamas do not attend church on Christmas Eve or Day
Barry and Mich don’t get how important this is. And Bobbi Gibbs statement here is garbage – FTA: The Obamas have attended Sunday services in Washington three times this year — once at the predominantly African-American 19th Street Baptist Church, and twice at St. John’s Episcopal Church across Lafayette Square from the White House. Asked at Tuesday’s White House briefing whether the First Family is still searching for a local church to join, press secretary Robert Gibbs responded: “The President has attended fairly regularly up at Camp David a church that he’s comfortable in and has enjoyed attending.”

So what. I didn’t know we lived in a Theocracy.
Obviously we don’t. But people tend to vote for people who they think share the same values as they do. If you know someone is a Christian, you know something about them. The Obamas have cultivated an image that their Christian faith is important to them. This, along with many other things, would seem to indicate that that is a false image. If it turns out that they aren’t what they said they were, then you know a heck of a lot about them.
The U.S. has never elected a President who did not at least pay lip service to Christianity, and would not have elected Obama had they thought otherwise.
Essentially it is another possible misrepresentation by Barry about what kind of person he is. Not bi-partisan, not a capitalist, not a change agent.. perhaps not a Christian.
I don’t write from the country’s perspective, Harrison, I write from mine. I’m a Christian, and it’s important to me.
The guy attended church for many years every Sunday. Of course, that church was headed by a radical, anti-American (Wright) but it was a church. I don’t remember Barack saying he went to church every Sunday when he was running for President. Bill Clinton went to church constantly and what good did that do him or the country? I just think using this one example is in poor taste. If Obama said he was for the 1st Amendment and then changes his mind that would be important to me but Churchwatch isn’t.
Actually, Harrison, Obama did not attend church every Sunday. This is old history … he rarely if ever attended any church. When he arrived in Chicago, he was told by his advisers that in order to be successful at community organizing that he had to find a church – he said, “I know,” and procrastinated anyway. Following his joining Wright’s church, his attendance was sporadic as documented by people that did go regularly.
I disagree with your “poor taste” comment. He didn’t go to church on Easter. He skipped the National Prayer Breakfast. It’s a pattern, not a single episode. If he wanted to find another path in his life outside Christianity, fine for him. His life. But he is not the person he said he was during his campaign on this issue. He mislead us. Pure and simple.
Okay he didn’t go every Sunday. Did he say he went to church regularly when he ran for prez?
The question is….. Will they miss the Ramadan Services????? OOPS… There it is…… another freudian slip…
