Barack Obama can call today a day of national service if he wants to. The rest of us will always remember 9/11 as the day when more than 3,000 innocent men, women, and children were murdered in cold blood by Islamic fanatics. It will always be a day to remember our horrific, collective loss. It will always be a day to remember the heroes who plunged into the war zone, many in the face of near certain death, to rescue complete strangers. You see, years from now when Obama’s silly day of service is long forgotten and Obama himself is relegated to the history books, we will still remember 9/11 as if it were yesterday. And we will know why we fight.

“Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)”

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day
Out in the yard with your wife and children
Working on some stage in LA
Did you stand there in shock at the site of
That black smoke rising against that blue sky
Did you shout out in anger
    In fear for your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry

Did you weep for the children
Who lost their dear loved ones
And pray for the ones who don’t know
Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble
And sob for the ones left below

Did you burst out in pride
For the red white and blue
The heroes who died just doing what they do
Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer
And look at yourself to what really matters

I’m just a singer of simple songs
I’m not a real political man
I watch CNN but I’m not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
    And the greatest is love

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day
Teaching a class full of innocent children
    Driving down some cold interstate
Did you feel guilty cause you’re a survivor
In a crowded room did you feel alone
Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her
Did you dust off that bible at home
Did you open your eyes and hope it never happened
Close your eyes and not go to sleep
Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages
Speak with some stranger on the street
Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow
Go out and buy you a gun
Did you turn off that violent old movie you’re watching
And turn on “I Love Lucy” reruns
Did you go to a church and hold hands with some stranger
Stand in line and give your own blood
Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family
Thank God you had somebody to love

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

    we will remember them.

  4. Joe Kinlan

It takes a real scumbag to exploit an event like the annivarsary of 9/11 to attack the sitting President of the United States. If there is one day of the year to put partisan dickery aside, this would be it. What a disgusting shame of an excuse for a “patriot”.

  5. MSGT's Daughter

    Joe,

It takes a real idiot to call this an attack & to claim that we have anything resembling a “sitting president at the present time.

It takes a rude & disrespectful asshole to make a comment like that at a post of remembrance for the attacks on our country 8 years ago. So, take your juvenile name calling elsewhere.

  6. MSGT's Daughter

I promise to keep my juvenile name calling here, ok?

  7. Seattle Zen

I completely agree with Joe. What the WTC disaster has to do with attacking the validity of a “day of service” is… nothing.

By the way, when you say, it is “why we fight”, does this mean you stepped away from your computer on September 12, 2001 and joined the military? In which war theater are you currently fighting Islam?

  8. BHOthedumbestRESIDENT ever

Barry Soetoro Hussein Obama needs to buy a f’n clue…here I’ll give you the F’n clue.
Man this pRESIDENT is so f’n dumb.

Here’s the clue USURPER>>>>>>dum dee dum dumbo

9/11 is not a day of service and NEVER WILL BE!

It’s a day of REMEMBERANCE AND MOURNING.

No matter what b hussein says or does, it all like a fart in the wind. If people don”t like it he’ll claim he never (farted)—- did that.

HOW SAD IT IS THAT WE ARE STUCK WITH THIS MORON.

9/11 A day of rememberance in honoring the dead. GOT IT? KEEP IT?

Can we have a leader now? BHO is a follower…he needs to get the F out of the way and let
a leader take control…stupid little man that he is WITH A PEA BRAIN TO MATCH.

I often wonder how many blow jobs he’s given to interns at night so far…hmmmmm
Nothing wrong with gays but those who pose as straight are despicable…He’s a poser from the get go about every single thing including his education or lack thereof…no one has seen proof of his so-called education..I do not belive he ever graduated from college…how could he and still be this stupid and dumb??? PROVE IT!

  9. Les Middleton

I don’t believe anyone is fighting Islam but rather many souls are steadfastly trying to eradicate terrorism.
