New Rasmussen is out – Obama’s net strongly collapse to minus 19.

The “strongly approve” has collapsed six points in the last five days, presently resting uncomfortably at 23% – a brand new low. “Strongly disapprove” ties a high at 42%.

Looking into the 23%:

Just 41% of Democrats Strongly Approve while 69% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 21% Strongly Approve and 49% Strongly Disapprove.

And check out this tidbit – seems the deficit is resonating:

Among those who consider fiscal policy issues the most important, just 1% Strongly Approve and 81% Strongly Disapprove.

Isn’t “1%” within the margin of error of zero?

And slap, slap, slap:

The President’s Approval Index rating is -2 among voters under 30 and -29 among senior citizens. From an income perspective, the President’s ratings are weakest among those who earn $40,000 to $100,000 annually.

Weakest among middle-income folks. Goes to veracity, methinks.

Here’s the chart:

Is it the anti-war base leaving him now? This dude is IN TROUBLE. Will the White House tell us about Rasmussen’s crayon set?

This is beyond shocking. This shows the digust America has for this President.

Thanks for the link. God help all of us.

The issue you refer to Steve, is the "tax multiplier" versus the "consumption multiplier." Here's a good discussion of it - our quick post and then the NYT article - http://patriotroom.com/article/ut-oh-nyt-is-sug...

Is a government already awash in red ink as far as the eye can see acting responsibly when it jacks up the debt ceiling by almost $2 trillion? The question was meant to be rhetorical. Might it be possible that the money will be used to temporarily better the economic situation in a modest way, or from preventing a worsening of the situation prior to the 2010 mid-terms? Again, I think that I am being rhetorical. The point is that my opinion is that raising the debt ceiling has nothing to do with rectifying the problems that the nation currently faces. It is all about the political self preservation of the current ruling class. I say we should act to starve the beast.

I agree with the broader point, Am-1st. People are checking out of the traditional system in big ways. Further, the Tea Parties are civil disobedience, right? Just not the traditional was of stopping traffic or occupying buildings. We are passively letting our voices be heard by showing our faces en masse, and then voting both consistently and in record numbers.

I do believe that we all are witnessing the beginning of a new political era. We just need to survive Obama first ...
  • an american first!
this is how civil disobediance will start:

I know many people who have refused to buy much of anything this christmas and beyond. There motto: "Starve the beast"

Buy nothing, spend as little as possible. At some point (and its comning soon), pretty much all American, the sane america-loving ones, will realise and pissed off that while they are scrimping and saving, the govt is loading a crap load of debt on them that they or their kids will have to pay!

then the second phase will begin, kick out all these losers OUT!

It felt awesome, Rose. Thanks for asking.

Isn't "1%" within the margin of error of zero?

I just wanted to know how good it felt when you typed that, Clyde.

President Obama has suffered a massive erosion of the mirage of his competence and qualification for the presidency...it's across the board, across party lines and age/income demographics. It's about domestic policy, foreign policy, environmental policy, and just basic running-the-store stuff.

These stains don't come out, kids.

Steve: "This may be the time to begin thinking of civil disobedience seriously."

    Perhaps but carefully -- IMO.
Despite the efforts of the state-controlled media we appear to be winning the public relations war right now. I agree with non-violent civil disobedience -- in fact I believe in morally grounded revolution -- but I would like to see the States start to step into the fray now and start exerting their rights under the consitution. The States asserting their rights would be player that the media would have a harder time dumping on.

Any civil disobedience by individuals would be protrayed the same way as the tea parties was -- only worse and might slow our efforts. Just a thought.

This may be the time to begin thinking of civil disobedience seriously. It may be that the only way that we can stop these clowns from spending is for 20 to 30 million of us to "forget" to file and pay income taxes on April 15, 2010. Or, in other terms, pull a massive Geithner-Charlie Rangel special.
  • Bernie
Its the all of the above -- 11 months past the campaign and the "great speeches", the fainting women, and the tingles up the legs -- reality is SLOWLY settleling in. This is good news -- but the bad news is an electorate so ignorant and ungrounded as to be moved by such a complete nothing of a man in the first place. We have a long way to go.
  • Steve
Although gold corrected against the dollar a bit over the last couple of days, now is the time to buy. The dollar is going to drop like a rock.
  • Clyde
I agree, Steve. The "fiscal" numbers are astounding. And all HC and C&T and Stim2 reflect is more trouble on the deficit front.
  • Steve
I think that people are reacting to the move of the idiots in congress to raise the debt ceiling by almost $2 trillion dollars more. Folks have a sense that these clowns are creating a hole that we will never climb out of.
  • Clyde
    Beyond "wow," eh?
  • Bill Dupray
    Wow.
