Is Modern Technology Hurting Relationships?
“Technology has robbed today’s children from these (wonderful) experiences…Fellow feeling, group work and concept of sharing are fast getting obsolete in today’s inherent nuclear society. With both parents working, we tend to make up for our non-availability by luring the children with the most advanced gadgets and robbing the children from their childhood. We need to nurture the young minds with the finer human qualities, which will make them a better human being in future, by which they will realize the role of technology is to bring us together, not to keep us apart -- writes Chaya Nika in “Is Technology Killing Childhood?” .
The New York Times states “Crackberry is no joke. American college students are hooked on cellphones, social media and the Internet and showing symptoms similar to drug and alcohol addictions, according to a new study. Researchers at the University of Maryland who asked 200 students to give up all media for one full day found that after 24 hours many showed signs of withdrawal, craving and anxiety along with an inability to function well without their media and social links.”
