Google hacked?
UPDATE 2: Diamand tells us in the comments that it was human error inside Google. Hunh. What’s next – redirects to pictures of exploding cats? More: The problem affected internet pages across the whole planet, and lasted for around 40 minutes before engineers were able to fix it. / “We periodically receive updates to that list and received one such update to release on the site this morning. Unfortunately (and here’s the human error), the URL of ‘/’ was mistakenly checked in as a value to the file and ‘/’ expands to all URLs. Fortunately, our on-call site reliability team found the problem quickly and reverted the file,” Google said in its official blog.
UPDATE: It’s gone. The warnings are gone. But they were there for over an hour. Something crashed at Google – or something infiltrated. Will be interesting to find out the story or to see if it comes back. I hate sounding like an alarmist, but it was real. Very odd. Here’s the screenshot:

Is anyone else seeing this? Every single search I do in Google comes back with this entry under each result: “This site may harm your computer.” Click on any site and I get this warning: “Warning – visiting this web site may harm your computer!” I need to cut and paste the URL to get to my destination.
I searched for an RNC ad on YouTube. Got it. I searched for something else conservative-politics genre – got it. So I searched Google using “anything.” Got it.
I am using Firefox v 3.0.5. I switched to Chrome – same thing. I thought it could be something on my computer, but then I got an e from Superstar Reader Lorraine – she said at least all the conservative politics sites were being blocked by Google.
I cannot find any news stories on the web yet.
I’ll update as I learn things.
Any shared stories or insights appreciated.

Looks like it is fixed now. It appears to have been a firefox-only problem.
The issue here is something called “google malware warning”, a well-intentioned but bad idea that hopefully they will decide to scrap.
Google is down. If you google Google, you will find that it marks google as down:
thanks, mark. but with the screenshot i provided on “anything” and you on “google” it seems the entire internet was affected. that’s a rather large f’up on their part.
i had the same issue on chrome – that’s the screenshot of mine.
Yeah I saw it. Even went on Yahoo search to try and find news about it.
I saw it this morning while researching an article I’m writing. I saw it on Chrome, IE & Firefox – on both my home and work networks. I think its was basically “everywhere”. Looks like it’s been fixed.
Clyde- received an email this morning stating that my site was listed this way and found the same kind of stuff going on with RBO. Are they testing something out?

Yeah, I saw it.
I blame Roger L. Simon.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7862840.stm Seems human error.
I should have added that I personally think it was some kind of test.
We can no longer trust anything google says or does. Chief Exec. Eric Schmidt is the new Obama paramour. He bought the White House and the White House bought him. When you lay with dogs you get fleas. Case in point: It took google 4 years to fix the “google bomb” attack machine targeting President Bush. It took them about 4 days to diffuse the same bomb targeting President Obama. (See james4america.wordpress.com) Need we say more. I think the cyber war is on. Target: The Patriots.
