Reid’s amendment has finally been unveiled. We expect the CBO Scoring to be released before noon today. It is presently being read in full on CSPAN2.

The amendment runs 383 pages – should be about 9 hours to read. Welcome Hot Air folks – I’ll be amending this post with the full text of the CBO scoring as soon as it is released (see here).

So, it begins with a provision about first time home buyers, essential to reformiung health care.
    Sure!

  2. The manager’s amendment won’t take 9 hours to read because there are fewer words to the page of an amendment than there are to a bill. Take a look, try reading one of these pages out loud for yourself. This will go much faster–probably 4 hours or less. And at this point, why bother? The American people have been punked by Harry Reid and this manager’s amendment format trick. No one should vote for this thing.

I remember 100 pages took 3 hours of the other amendment, but you would be right if the density is less.

    Been reading 2 hours now – on page 104 … 383/104 = 3.7 units of 2 hours each … 7.4 hours?

Abortion issue…troubling. The fact that this bill establishes a precedent allowing the federal government to cap a private coporation’s profits at 20%?

    Disasterous.

    Nelson is spineless….

Managing a company’s profit is very similar to regulated entities – like private utilities. But in those instances, there is a quid pro quo … the utility (sewer and water, for example) has a local monopoly.

On page 163/383 now. About 7 hours total – of which 3 are behind us. Expect finish reading at roughly 3:30PM

On page 260/383. Still on target for 330PM.
