A laugh a minute with appointments. UPDATE. Conyers take a shot at newsboy

First, we get the Clinton retreads. Now we get the Clinton News Network reporters. Will it never end?

From CNN:

President-elect Barack Obama has approached CNN’s chief medical correspondent, Sanjay Gupta, to be the country’s next surgeon general, the cable news network said Tuesday. CNN said it has kept Gupta from reporting on health care policy and other matters involving the incoming Obama administration since learning he was under consideration for the post.

Gupta and Michael Moore went at it over “Sicko.” Here’s Moore’s side. But judge for yourself – here’s the transcript of the head to head.

A little more background: Based in Atlanta, Gupta also contributes health news stories to CNN.com and CNNHealth.com, co-hosts “Accent Health” for Turner Private Networks, provides medical segments for the syndicated version of ER on TNT, writes a column for TIME magazine, anchors the global health program Vital Signs for CNN International and is featured in a weekly podcast on health issues called “Paging Dr. Gupta.”

I think Gupta handled Moore pretty well after reading it. Gupta doesn’t seem hell-bent on turning America into a socialist paradise, so on first look I’d have to say I’m fairly pleased with this one.
