Town Hall Meeting with U.S. Congressman Brian Baird, August 18, 2009. A Marine vet speaks his mind with complete clarity and voice. You know, there’s something about a Marine that exudes training, confidence, and competence. Damn proud of everyone of them. Here’s the video:

Thank you for your service, Richard. I disagree with you, however, that a different position on a political issue is worthy of a condemnation such as being “ashamed.” I adamantly disagree with your position, but I view that as a different balancing of interests rather than a basis for condemning you.

If you wish to state your case for why you support this bill, you can be assured that you will be treated with respect. Have at it if you like.

What most people forget is that these people work for us, not the other way around. The public has gotten soft and for so long we have allowed them to act like they have total control over us, that they now believe that they are in the drivers seat. It is time that we call them to task for their actions and inform them that we will now take back the control and they will do what they were elected to do and not go off in their own direction once elected. There are checks and balances for a reason. The people own everything in this country including the White House. It is part of the National Parks owned by the people just like Yellowstone National Park. There is no way that the President can buy automobile industry unless he does it with his own money. The same goes for health care, banks, and mortage companies. So tell why we are letting them use our tax dollars to do all of these things and distroying the free enterprize and free trade that stands for a free society and a free nation. It is time to stand up and be counted even if itis one at a time. Semper Fi GySgt Newell USMCret
