See this nice looking man? I bet him momma loves him dearly, and is so very proud of all he has accomplished. Liam Bartlett is one of the talking heads for Australia’s version of “60 Minutes.” Hearken back to the days of yesteryear when investigative journalists donned hidden cameras to gather information, and then burst upon unsuspecting soon-to-be defendants with questions built upon accusations …

It seems Liam has trouble with Jews, perhaps more specifically Israelis. He issued a report for the show on the horrors of Israelis in the West Bank Judea and Samaria.

We’ll start here: Broadcast on Friday September 18, reporter Liam Bartlett starts with the wholly erroneous statement that “hundreds of thousands of Jewish settlers are moving into the West Bank, building new towns on Palestinian land.”

“Are moving” is an active tense. Odd in light of there being only 300,000 there now. His report suggests that the Israelis are actively increasing their numbers by at least 67%. Laughably untrue – at any time in history. Also laughably untrue, of course, is that there exists anything properly known as “Palestinian land” outside Trans-jordan. Finally, “new towns” have not been authorized for years.

Three errors in the matter of 18 words. Is that a record?

He then spends a lot of time on a shooting – Israeli firing, “Palestinian” absorbing. He conveniently just gets the Arab side, ignoring commonly available exculpatory information (here and here).

Errors by omission are errors none the less. At least Liam is consistent.

Finally, he shows the “peaceful demonstrations” of “Palestinians” outside an Israeli settlement. Peaceful? They throw stones at Israelis. Second, it’s at the border fence – he got the location wrong.

Liam Bartlett is nothing but a whiny anti-Semite. How sad that Australians have their own problems getting honest information from the press.
